Serenity is coming! Oh yes! The trailer to Serenity (the Firefly film) is now online. I demand that you immediately watch it! (comments:0 From Slashdot: "The four sky divers proved that an ad hoc network set up using the wireless functions of a Nintendo DS works perfectly at distances of nearly 400 feet while falling 120 miles an hour." (comments:0 Why not buy your own little bit of The World. Or perhaps you'd rather live on a palm tree which is visible from space instead! Everyone is talking about it! Next stop Magrathea. (comments:0 From those crazy-go-nuts folks at www.hawksley.net. Not perfect but pretty cool; I heard they'll give it another shot when they get more time. (comments:0 A few weeks old but I don't think it's appeared here yet. (comments:0 For all you Royal watchers out there, don't miss the 'big occasion' - see it all live on the webcam. ;) (comments:0 Online art mixed with a hint of point'n'click. All packaged up in a big bag of curiously surreal. (comments:0 I may have mentioned the Moxie cinema and blog to you already, but here's the latest wacky thing to come out. Dan and Nicole are strapped for cash and have decided to sell the naming rights to the concession bar (the Cinebar), so if you have an eBay account and want to make yourself famous (at least with arthouse cinema-goers in the Springfield Missouri area) then put a bid in on their auction. Press Release Springfield, MO, April 6, 2005: Moxie Cinema, opening later this spring, is auctioning off the naming rights to the Concession Bar to the highest bidder on Ebay. The winning bidder will reserve the right to have the Concession Bar named after themselves or their corporation for the first year of operation. The auction lasts ten days, starting on April 7 and ending April 17, 2005. A link to the auction is available at http://www.moxiecinema.com. Due to unforeseen building costs, the owners of Moxie Cinema need to raise additional revenue before they are able to open. “It’s not a conventional way to raise money,” owner Dan Chilton says. “But then again, we’re not necessarily a conventional movie theater.” Located downtown at 408 West Walnut Street, Moxie Cinema’s mission is to create a unique and inviting venue for the exhibition of smaller, lesser-known films that have traditionally been unattainable in the Springfield market. By providing intriguing film series and offering a cinematic experience that differentiates itself from the typical multiplex affair, the Moxie will create a one-of-a-kind service that will benefit the downtown community along with the rest of the metropolitan area.
